Elizabeth Helman Minchilli – Co-founder of OBP.
Elizabeth Helman Minchilli lives in Italy and divides her time between Rome and Umbria. She contributes to a wide range of magazines in Europe, Asia and the United States including The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune, Architectural Digest, Food & Wine and Town & Country. She writes about the joys of Italian life and covers such topics as art, architecture, gardens, design, interior design, travel and food. She is the author of six books on Italian lifestyle: Private Tuscany (Rizzoli), Private Rome (Rizzoli) and Deruta: A Tradition of Italian Ceramics (Chronicle), Restoring a Home in Italy (Artisan), Villas on the Italian Lakes (Scriptum) and has just finished her latest book, Italian Rustic, (Artisan).
Melissa Clark, a James Beard Foundation award winner, writes about cuisine, wine, travel and other products of appetite for numerous publications including the New York Times (as a columnist for the Dining Section), Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, and Martha Stewart. In addition, Clark has written 20 cookbooks including Chef Interrupted: Delicious Chefs Recipes You can Actually Make at Home (Clarkson Potter). Recently, she completed her first diet and lifestyle book to answer the oft-asked question “how can you be a food writer and a size 2?” The Skinny: How to Fit into Your Little Black Dress Forever (Meredith Books) came out in December 2006. Clark was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where she now lives with her husband, Daniel Gercke, their infant daughter Dahlia, and their formerly cosseted cat.
Alice Feiring is a James Beard Award winning writer and popular wine blogger. Recently, Feiring recounted her very personal wine journey in the The Battle for Wine & Love or How I Saved the World From Parkerization. This widely acclaimed book is available in paperback in May and the Spanish edition follows in 2010. Her book for Random House, Living with Wine, on fabulous wine cellars and their creators will be released August 2009.
Cited as one of the major American wine personalities on Wikipedia, she is also the wine editor for the LA Times Magazine and writes for the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Departures, Saveur, and a variety of other glossies and dailies. Feiring lives in New York City.
Monica Larner is a freelance writer based in Rome and specializing in Italian wine. She is currently Italian Editor with Wine Enthusiast magazine and reviews some 2,500 wines each year for publication. She reports on wine news, travel destinations and contributes to the magazine’s food and wine pairing section. She has held this position for five years and has traveled extensively throughout Italy’s wine regions during that time. She is author of four books including In Love in Italy: A Traveler’s Guide to the Most Romantic Destinations in the Country of Amore (Rizzoli, 2006) and Living, Studying and Working in Italy (Henry Holt, 2003). She is currently writing Italy on 2, 3 and 4 wheels: A Traveler’s Guide to Life in the Slow Lane for Rizzoli.
Laurie Kahle During nearly nine years as senior editor at Robb Report—directing editorial coverage of watches, jewelry, fashion, and spas—Laurie developed an in-depth understanding of the luxury market and the affluent clientele it caters to. Dana Micucci is a journalist based in New York who specializes in
culture, art, design and travel. She is the author of Artists in Residence (The Little Bookroom), a guide to the homes and studios of eight 19th-century artists in and around Paris; Best Bids: The Insider’s
Guide to Buying at Auction (Viking Studio); and Collector’s Journal (The Little Bookroom). Ms. Micucci was formerly a senior publicist at Christie’s, the international art auction house.
David Downie is a native San Franciscan who moved to Paris and now divides his time between France and Italy. His travel, food and arts features appear in magazines and newspapers worldwide. He is the author of many nonfiction books and two thrillers, most recently Paris City of Night.
